On the Fifth Day of Christmas my True Love Said to Me....

On the fifth day of Christmas my true love said to me...I'll meet you in Colorado, be sure and hang a mistletoe for me.
Yep, Christmas in Colorado... but no snow yet.  But it's OK for now, it can wait till all my family gets here to show it's beauty.
5 more days til Christmas!  I'm looking forward to the excitement of Christmas morning, being with my kids and family and seeing smiles across their faces as they open their presents, not to mention Christmas dinner (add another 2 pounds to my weight).   I will truly bask in these moments for the next few days.
As this year has come and almost gone, I'm actually looking forward to the new year.  Getting back to normal routines, seeing what good things are in store for us in the next 12 months.  I think the hustle and bustle of the season has finally caught up with me.  But I don't want to end the year without recognizing the real reason for the season and say Happy Birthday to my Lord, "Jesus". I've said it before and I'll say it again, without him I would have no hope but with him I have all hope.  So Happy Birthday Jesus!

I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Forever 21 ???

I have always loved shoes and today is no different.  I am lovvvving the new shoes styles...clunky heels, platforms, sooo cute.  However, as I have mentioned in an earlier blog, I am struggling with being 49.  Not because of the number, but all the other stuff. (If your my age or older you'll understand).  Anyway, I think my mind keeps telling me I'm "forever 21"  but my body keeps screaming NO YOUR NOT.  So getting dressed and going shopping is like going to the dentist and getting a root canal, uuugh.  But this weekend while I was out shopping I found some boots and I bought them.  Today... I have convinced myself I will find a place to wear them.  I had full intentions of taking them back but I have decided not to.  They were a good price and I like them.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Here's a picture of them along with other pictures of really cute stuff that I found online when I couldn't sleep last night at midnight.

These are mine, the rest are wishful thinking.

Love the red dress in the left corner.

So is it true that your only as young as you feel?

Dreaming of a White Christmas

As I begin my day enjoying a cup of Starbucks coffee and a little blog reading, I had to take a quick break and feed my cutie pie dog and take her outside for a bathroom break.   While standing there, waiting and waiting and waiting, I began to look around our yard and noticed alot of things, like it's time to give a little tlc to it, but that's another story.  What I paid attention to was our very large maple tree.  It has just now begun to change color in it's leaves.  Remind you it's December.  While all the other parts of the country enjoyed the change back in October,  we are just now seeing it.  I started dreaming of a white Christmas and found these photos.

Pull Your Drawers Out

I love organizing.!  Before I start a project or anything, everything must be in it's place.
A couple of weeks ago I had some time and organized my kitchen drawers.  I have to say I'm kinda proud of myself because they're still looking organized.  I realize that with all my kids gone it makes it easier to stay put, but I do give myself credit for not getting in a hurry and just throwing things back in.

I found a photo online of a drawer that would work perfect and if you did get in a hurry and throw things in, I think it might be OK.

You'll see a couple of my drawers below.

Feast your eyes on this neatness!

Beware.... ugliness first

Ahh... better!

Ugliness....

Better...

OK, so it's not as pretty as the ones above, but I do feel better about it.

Change Happens

OK, so I like change.  I am  one of those women who moves furniture around to create a new look...(alot). They keep telling me one day I'm going to regret it in my back. Well, I think I'm almost there, but I just keep telling myself to use my legs (right?!)  But in changing to this new look for my blog, I didn't even have to use a muscle.  So I'm OK.

As our seasons change...like the one we just had...changing from the Thanksgiving season to the Christmas season usually changes some of our decor too.  I've left a few photos I found online help inspire some Christmas decorating ideas.
