It's funny how pieces of furniture or decorating objects demand our attention.  Maybe it's better put this way... This room speaks to me and it's saying....

It's Margarita time or perhaps...I'll have a glass of wine with my pasta.  I think the blue chairs are the ones speaking here.

Chic Vintage

Vintage...does it ever go out of style.  I have a tendancy to venture off into vintage territory from time to time.  I really like it when georgous chandeliers are paired with it to give it a bit of glamour.  But then I like it when it stays a bit rustic and bright colors are thrown in for a fun look too.  Oh, if I had a couple more houses....It's a good thing I have a husband who reels me back to reality from time to time.

Spring Temptations

OK, so I have Spring Fever.  Just about everyone I talk to here in Florida does too.  It starts getting warmer (75% or so) and that's all it takes.  We're ready to start planting new gardens (I want tomatoes, bell peppers, peonies etc.),  going to the beach (still too cold for me), wearing shorts (not quite ready for that yet (need at least a little bit of a tan first).  Anyway, I'm oozing over Spring Ideas and can't wait to get started decorating.

Italy by Way of Portifno Bay

Twenty-six years! That's how long we've been married as of February 15th.  It's amazing how fast your life goes.  We decided to spend the weekend in Orlando at Porofino Bay and have dinner at Mama Della's.  Oh, my goodness...the food was amazing as was the surroundings.  Obviously this is an Italian setting (if you couldn't tell by the name of the restaurant).  The whole theme was made like Italy.  We had a great time.  Except the weather was freezing so  we weren't able to use the pool or take advantage of the outdoor activities but we still had a good time.

Azaleas Are In Bloom

You can always count on beautiful color come February here in Florida.  Azaleas are everywhere.  We have a couple of them throughout our yard and I thought I would take a snapshot of them while I was taking pictures for my photo challenge.(which by the way, I made a page exclusively for my challenges.)

I love how the anther looks like it's silver. 

Cake Ball Cuteness

I've just been introduced to cake balls while I was here in Texas.  I know...I'm just a bit behind times, but that's what happens when you live in a small town.  Your the last to know anything.  It takes going to a big city to see whats going on in the world. Anyway, my daughter bought one at Starbucks and let me taste it.  OMG!  If you have a sweet craving that will fix it. I just love the ideas of these.  They're so cute.   So one day I'm going to try to make some.  If they turn out decent, I give you a peek.  (I've tried my hand at decorating sugar cookies and it wasnt so pleasant).  However, I found some that are ADORABLE on line that I thought I would share with you.  It's my inspiration.  Now, forget about trying the detail, we'll see what happens.

As I was catching up on my reading, I ran across a new blog, fatmumslim.com.au/.  She's offering a February photo challenge that looked like it would be fun.  So I said to myself, Tammy you've been wanting to use your camera more so why not join?  So I did.  All you have to do is take a photo of what is on the list for the day, post it and then check out what others have done.  Pretty simple huh?  Of course I'm a few days late but I'll just start tomorrow where I'm at.  I'm pretty sure that will be ok.  So wish me luck and check back soon.

Gettin Techy With It



Hi all!  I'm here in Texas at the moment helping my daughter move to another place.  But tomorrows the end and I'll be flying back to Florida to the warm weather again.  Ye-ha! (it's really cold and rainy here)

A few weeks ago I bought a reader...the Nook Tablet and was able to try it out on the plane for the first time and loved it.  It definitely does what it's intended for.  The Internet is pretty quick and the pictures are incredibly clear and bright.  So, I've been looking around for different covers for it.  I did buy a leather look one at the Barnes and Nobles Store but I thought it would be fun to have something with some color.  So I set out for the hunt and here's some things I thought were really cute.


How fun are these?  They are called skins and are a much lighter in weight and inerchangable.
