Dear Missouri

Dear Missouri State,
As you know I visited your state last weekend and I want to tell you I had a wonderful time.  I have to say that your city...St. Louis was very clean and attractive.  It was so exciting to visit some of your attractions while I was there, some of which brought out the kid in me.  Our first stop was the big zoo you have there and for the life of me I can't think of the name of it.  It's been at least 35 years since I have been to a zoo and still had fun watching all the animals.  They were all so amazing.  These are a couple of my favorites.  I swear the gorillas were talking in sign language while we were watching them.  Very cool!
 How majestic is this lion?
There was one ape named....Tammy.  How about that?

Then of course we wouldn't miss going to the amazing St. Louis Arch.  What a beautiful sight in your city. We did take the ride up to the top.  I'll have to say I was a little bit nervous getting into those tinsey tiny carts that take you up.  But I managed to keep my claustrophobia in check.

Bottoms up... taken underneath the St. Louis Arch.

We ended up on our last day at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens.  Ohhh, how pretty it was.  We left with all kinds of ideas to do in our own yard.  Here's some of my favorite spots there.

Sorry the pictures a little blurry.
 I absolutely looove bridges.

So there's the round up of a few of the things we did.  There is just one thing though...if I may.... I just hope it's warmer than the 50 and 60 degrees we had while we were there.  Maybe next time when I'm there it could be more like 70 degrees (at least).    But other than that, I had a great time.

Lots of prints going on here, but it all works well together.
Citrus Splash
This bright and lite look would be fun at a beach house.

I've been up to something....Having Babies

Baby tomatoes that is.
I've been a little busy lately and wanted to share what's been keeping me.
Let's see, where should I start?
For the past few years I've been talking about wanting to grow some tomatoes.  Well, I finally did it and it's so much fun.  I bought two, one is a popper tomato the other is a grape tomato.  Yeah, I know they are very similar but one already had a few green baby tomatoes on it so I kinda cheated getting started on that one but the other didn't have any.  I have to say that those plants are the fastest growing plants that I know of.  I think they grew four inches every day.  I'm happy to report they are still alive and I now have baby RED tomatoes.  So excited!

Here it is...

In the beginning...
As you can see they are about a foot or so tall.

I must confess hubby helped me plant them, but I'm taking care of them.  I guess it's a joint venture.
We needed a couple of drain holes so out came the drill.
Next rocks.  He said they needed them, so OK. Something to do with draining.  Remember I'm new at this.

The old staple, Miracle Gro.  I was told that was probably the best to use.

Now the planting.

Planted and ready for nurturing.

And Now.....fast forward a about 3 weeks...
One is about four feet tall and the other is about three feet tall.
I decided to do container gardening and keep them on our pool deck to help reduce the bug issue and I think I made the right decision.

Just look at them!  Ahh you can see my itsy bitsy red tomatoes.
I  now have two more starter tomato plants that will have larger tomatoes and two green pepper plants.  I'll share those later when their babies arrive, me being the proud mama that I am.

Part 2 of I've been up to something will continue tomorrow.
Have a great day.
