Friendly Encounters

It was a last minute decision but we decided to go ahead and do it.
Big Pine Key here we come!
There's a group of about 20 people that make this trip every year and we got invited.

One am. Saturday morning came sooo early but this was a trip that was going to be worth it.
It was actually Two am. by the time we pulled out and drove to meet everyone in Big  Pine Key.
Three big fishing boats were a part of this caravan so there was plenty of water time for all of us.

We met a few new friends while we were there that I wanted to introduce to you...
Meet Mama Deer...
Can you believe these deer  will just walk right up to you and eat right from your hand.  This one is enjoying a little pet from one of our friends.

And baby deer...
Is this not the cutest little thing. He's not quite sure about all this but he was a bit curious and managed to come a little closer to check us out.

Such gorgeous animals!

We saw all kinds of critters running around free while we were there.

This day was a day for sunning.  Not only for me and a few other friends but this guy was in on it to.  One of the guys was wetting down the pavers and all of the sudden this Iguana jumped on the deck and ever so slowly made his way towards the water that was being sprayed.  He was a bit cautious but not really afraid and sat there enjoying the cool water gently hitting him from the water hose.  He must of sat there for 15 minutes but as more people showed up he decided it was time to go.

His color was so vibrant!

I have to say the water at the Keys is so beautiful.  It's such a pretty blue color.

We anchored here for a day of snorkeling with a few other boats.

This is one in the group that's getting a few pointers before starting out.

Here they go.....

Today is diving day for a few of them.  I was not one of them but my husband was.  Here he is getting a few last minute reminders before going in.
I was a wee bit nervous for him because he had not done this since back in the eighties.

But no worries.... He had a blast!

Now we're home and back to our normal routines.  I think I need a vacation from my vacation...
I'm tired.
Have a good night everyone.

Glad you had such a great time, and I know what you mean about having a vacation after a vacation! Lol
I usually try to allow a few days at home before I head back to work to rest up from vacation. Sounds funny, but true. xo
