One of the pleasures we have in life is in the form of flowers and Summer gives us a chance to enjoy so many of their bright colors.
Originally, I wanted to do a series of "Simple Pleasures" through out the Summer. But as life would have it, time stepped in and made plans for other day to day priorities.
Does that ever happen to you? You really are serious about starting something and it just doesn't happen like you wanted it to?
I really wanted to make my blog priority over the Summer and I just could not seem to do the things I dreamt of. But at the end of this Summer season, it all turned out good and I was able to enjoy Life's simple pleasures.
As the weather warmed, I once again grew fond of colorful flowers.
and began to plant my favorites like this Gerber Daisy...pink at that.
I always look forward to the time of the year when these flowers bloom and for the life of me I can never remember the name of them. But name of no name I love these bold and beautiful blooms.
Then there were days when the "art" of re-arranging took place, like on my back porch. These wooden chairs were a thrift store find and were in need of a little paint touch up and with bright pillows added for a fun Summer feel, this season, I wanted to be on my porch all the time.
Lantanas were one of my garden adventures.
I have to tell you, I'm no green thumb and since I planted these, I have found out...you just can't kill them. My kind of flower.
That's not to say that I don't wish I had a green thumb...I would love to. But traveling out of town a few times and getting busy with work, there were times they got thirsty and I wasn't there for them. I know...poor things.
Ahh, roses. This little miniature rose is still with me living in a planter under a tree. It's been moved a couple of times but I think this is a good place for it. Hopefully it will hold out til next year.
So as we leave Summer and move towards Fall, I look forward to Fall's Simple Pleasures.
Lovely pictures. Have great time this fall season too :)
