Napkins are Like Pillows

When you think about it, napkins play a big part in a table scape..  They add instant color and personality.  Sometimes they are your inspiration piece for the table scape you are planning on creating.
Natural Blue Striped Linen Cotton Napkins Set of 8
I found these blue and white stripped napkins on Etsy at Linen by Inga to show you.  The stripes first of all grabbed me but the fresh look of blue and white just makes me feel good.

This was set up for a kids Easter party by William- Sonoma, but you could do this for a casual adult event too.  It's simple and yet still looks nice.

Table Scapes to Set the Right Mood

Good morning everyone.  What a way to start your day, sitting down for breakfast here.  I adore this setting!  The way it's so bright with white and just enough color to make it interesting.  And the lighting is too cute.

What a great way to use doilies.  There's something about them that I have always liked, but I thought they were too old fashion to actually use,  But this works.  I really like this idea.

Tropical Tablescape Is Finished

Hey yall, remember the tablescape I started a while back?  Well, I finally finished this little project of mine.   It was actually starting to bug me.  I really don't remember when I started putting it all together, but I do know that there has been alot going on in my life since then so I know it's been a while.
I have added a bit more since the last sneak peak.  There are red and green round placemats, more greenery and sticks, more fruit, glasses,, forks and I thinks that's it.  Anyway, take a look and see what you think.

Not your typical 4th of July colors

This 4th of July we spent at my moms home with my sister and her daughter from Texas and my cousin and her family. Just being with family is such a calm and relaxing feeling.  We had a great time and of course ate too much food.  I had originally thought about decorating the table but then I kind of poo poo'd the idea thinking that I didn't want anything to be too fussy.  However, at the last minute on a trip to Wally World I decided to pick up a few things and just do it.

One would normally think of red, white and blue for the 4th, but my Mom's home has some lime green decor in it so that's the color I decided to play on.

My inspiration piece was the stripped tablecloth.  I pulled together yellow paper plates and a pop of red.  I was a little nervous about the red but went with it anyway.  Once I got back to the house I started putting things together as my Mom started pulling ribbons etc. out for me to use.

My Mom has many talents and one of those talents is arranging flowers.  She surprised me and cut some from her flower bed and placed them in a metal watering bucket. It was beautiful!

The whole look was kept casual but the colors added a flare of fun.

Sneak Peak #3

So this tablescape is taking a bit longer than I thought.  But between working and all the other stuff, it will get there one day.
As it comes together, it is becoming a tropical setting, and I'm OK with that.  Some of the things I already had, like these fruit pieces.  That's good for the budget, right?  I've also added a few more flowers.  I'm not good with flower names, but I think the yellow flowers are Hibiscus.
There's more to come so stay tuned.

2nd Sneak Peak

Here's the 2nd peak at what's being added to my tablescape project.  I think it's coming together nicely.

Tablescape Project

I absolutely love dishes!  I would have a different kind for every event and season if I had the room to store them.
I have decided to put together a tablescape. My plan is to keep it budget friendly.  Hopefully it won't take too long to finish.
As I start working on this Summer tablescape, sneak peaks are in the works.
Here's your first peak....
A lemon and orange color with polka dots.  In my opinion, you just can't get any cuter than polka dots.  I have some thoughts of what I'm going to do, but I don't want to spoil the surprise so until next time...
